Dr. Vikash Raj Satyal  is Associate Professor  in  Tribhuvan University. He has completed M.Sc.  Statistics in 1984 from  Tribhuvan University  and got PhD in Statistics from  the University of Vienna, Austria in 1994.  The title of his  dissertation was  "A Comprehensive Study of Parametric and Nonparametric Models of the Ozone  Contamination  at Ground Level for Vienna". He has strong research and analytical skills and expertise on quantitative data analysis. He has experience of many statistical packages including EViews, SPSS, SAS, Minitab and EXCEL.
More than 20 socio-economical researches are published to his credit. Some publications are:  “Nepal:  Social Security for the Elderly”  published  from  Rutledge Taylor Francis,  London, “Economic Growth in Nepal, 1996-2000” published  from Oxford University Press,  London, “Sustainable Peace and Conflict Resolution: A case of Nepal” published from IIDS, Nepal  “Gender Budget Audit Nepal” published from  UNIFEM/Nepal and “Industrial Survey Vision 20/20”  published from  UNIDO/UNDP, Nepal.  For the  last  two  decades  he  has  worked  in  development research,  as  Statistician  in  the  Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS), as Sampling Expert for the World Bank, as Econometrician for ADB and as Statistician for UNIDO/UNDP.
He has also been associated with many academic  institutes of Nepal  including Kathmandu Collage of Management(KU) and Ace Institute of Management(PU) and has worked  in the Mphil program of  the Department of Economics and  for Master in Urban Planning  in  the Engineering Campus, TU.
