Hon. Ganesh Shah

Er. Ganesh Shah was born in rural Terai Plain, Dhanusha District, Nepal and completed his primary education in a local School. He completed his college level studies in Nepal. Shah was honored graduate in engineering from Moscow at during time of United Soviet Russia from prestigious university of People’s Friendship University.  After graduating, Shah did his professional practice in Nepal through Department of Water Supply for 10 years. While serving the nation he was deeply involved in anti monarchial movement. Due to his belief in development through freedom, Er. Ganesh Shah had to depart from government service and fight for freedom for 10 years.
Over the years, he has Mr. Shah started few water engineering companies serving as Founder and Managing Director to educate and provide clean water to city inhabitants.
After Nepal’s freedom (1990) Er. Shah is advocating for fair democratic practices. Er. Ganesh Shah was nominated in the Constitution Assembly for three years (2006-2009) and played a leading role in preparing Nepal's Interim Constitution.  In 2008-09, he also served as a Minister of Environment, Science and Technology. During his term, Mr. Shah led the Nepalese delegation at the COP14 Poznan.  Mr. Shah also led the delegation for SAARC environment ministers’ conference and raised issues of scientific and technical cooperation within region. Shah is also a founding signatory of International Renewable Energy Agency in Bonn.  Shah led the delegation to the 25th Council of UNEP in Kenya. Shah was instrumental in initiating a new division of climate change at a national level.
After Nepal was declared a republic, Er. Shah has been intensely involved in development activities such as Capacity building of youth in development endeavors, Climate Change for developing appropriate resiliency and environment friendly development activities.

Mr. Aseem Raj Sharma

Mr Aseem Raj Sharma has a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences with distinction. He has more than five years of working experience in the field of environmental research with a focus on socio-environmental issues, water resources and climate change (trend and impacts) of the mountain region. Sharma commenced his life of environmental research and advocacy when he voluntarily started contributing for environmental research and awareness at his early college days.
Currently, he is Research Associates at International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in the Water and Hazard Department. His work focuses on hydro-meteorological data analysis of the HKH region.
He has done several research on scientific and community based socio-environmental issues and published his findings. His experiences lie in data generation, processing and analysis in the field of water resources, natural disasters and socio-environmental issues of the mountain communities.
He is familiar with various data analysis and interpretation software like MS Excel, R, SPSS and Arc GIS.
He believes in good science practice and thinks that good science based findings are only possible through quality data analysis and wisely understood focused work.

Mr. Pabitra Dahal







Pabitra Dahal

Mr. Dahal has completed M.Sc. in Environmental Science, Specialization on Mountain environment, from Tribhuvan University (TU). He is affiliated to Central Department of Environmental science, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal  as a faculty Member from August 2011 and as faculty member of Environmental science Department, Goldengate Int’l College, Oldbaneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. He has conducted diverse researches in the field of environment and social sectors. Besides, Mr. Dahal has participated in various national and international conferences in regard to the burning issues of environment.

Mr. Dahal has published numbers significant scientific articles in national and international journal. His efficiency in conducting research and analyzing the issues is noteworthy.
