Prof. Dr. Madan Koirala

Madan Koirala is a Professor of Environmental Science at Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University. Currently, he is the Assistant Dean at Institute of Science & Technology. He is an Expert Member of the Climate Change Council, Government of Nepal, an apex body chaired by the Rt.Honorable Prime Minister. An active Environmental Science Professional specialized in the Mountain Environment is involved in many issues such as Climate Change, Biodiversity, and Ecotourism in academe, governance and development.

He has guided more than 25 MSc students and 4 PhD candidates. Professor Koirala has authored six books, contributed chapters in environment related publications and published more than a dozen research articles in national and international journals. He has participated in COP Meetings of the UNFCCC and other international forums as well. He has extensively travelled the country and abroad. He prefers encouraging deserving youths and enjoys joining them in environment and development related activities.

Mr. Jeevan Thapa

Jeevan Thapa, CEO, EPTRI has 6 years of experience with national and international projects and organizations in the fields of environment, youth leadership, advocacy, and awareness. He excels in research analysis, programming and project implementation in specialized fields of environmental advocacy and awareness. Mr. Thapa has volunteered and worked with various organizations such as UNDP/GEF/SGP, WWF Nepal, DISVI International Cooperation (Italy), Global Fund for Women (USA), Nepal Tourism Board, and different forms of Governmental bodies in Nepal. Most recently, Mr. Thapa worked as a team leader for the project ENVIRON VISION supported by UNDP/GEF/SGP.In addition, Mr. Thapa served as a prime researcher for YONSED and WWF Nepal in regard to the Climate Change and Disaster Risk  in Nepal.

Mr. Thapa did his graduation in Environmental Science with specialization in Mountain Environment from College of Applied Sciences, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Currently, Mr Thapa has been working as a visiting lecturer for graduate and under graduate degree in environmental science and has been engaged as the president of YONSED.

Mr. Govinda Bhandari

Govinda Bhandari has 4 years of experience with national and international projects focusing on environment, natural history and culture. He has a keen interest in conducting the research works on climate change issues, world cultures and natural history collections. Mr. Bhandari has involved in various national and international institutions such as Research and Conservation of Nature Nepal; National Institute of Natural Sciences (NINS, Nepal); Laboratorio Nacional de Energia e Geologia, I.P., Lisboa, Portugal; Naturhistorisches Museum Wien, Austria; Timiryazev State Biological Museum, Moscow, Russia; Leeds Museums and Galleries, Leeds, UK; V& A Museum of Childhood, London, UK; and Aberdeen University, UK. Mr. Bhandari has got the research scholarship from the University Grants Commission, Nepal to conduct a research on the study of agricultural drought in Nepal. He has calculated the crop coefficient values (Kc) of the major cereals (Rice, wheat and Maize) in Nepal and has published his research works in peer reviewed international journals.  
Mr. Bhandari has obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Environment Science from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and completed Masters in Environment with specialization in Ecology from Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences, Sikkim, India in 2007.
